Diversity is our great creative advantage.
The Diversity in Design Collaborative is united by a belief in design’s power to enact positive change and the role of diversity in creating strong businesses. Our initial focus is to increase representation of Black designers in the field.
Professional pathways need to be lit.
By combining our creative thinking powers, DID will illuminate design career paths for underrepresented high school and college-aged students and create bridges to eventual employment opportunities.
We can light them better and faster together.
In partnership with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), education programs, and nonprofits, DID connects organizations to share ideas, pool resources, and collaborate to improve diversity in design and create employment opportunities for Black designers.
We've outlined opportunities for impact
DID will include efforts and opportunities around: design fairs, internships, scholarships, fellowships, mentorship, conferences, recruitment, retention, and involvement in design education.
To make design the answer.
Let's make design an easier career choice for more people. By sharing ideas and pooling resources, the collaborative will be able to make demonstrable change.
