Beats+Bites+Backgrounds (BBB) provides a safe space for diverse creatives to connect and network with other professionals in the design field.
About the Program
Those who attend Beats+Bites+Backgrounds gain valuable insights from influential speakers, network with local Black creatives, and engage in spaces designed by and for them. This program directly addresses the feelings of isolation and lack of belonging that Black designers often experience in the industry, which can hinder career retention and advancement.
Through Beats+Bites+Backgrounds and similar events, we are reimagining how to retain and empower Black creatives to thrive within the design space.

Provides attendees with an opportunity to hear from prominent, Black industry leaders and learn from their experiences within the design industry.

Serves as a safe space for diverse creatives to connect and network with other design professionals within the field.

Offers customized, unique experiences for diverse creatives by partnering with local small businesses, community organizations and industry leaders from each city it is hosted in.
